Draycott Summer Fayre – July 10th 2016

25 years old – and going strong!

It’s a very special year for the village of Draycott-in-the-Moors; it marks the 25th year of our annual Summer Fayre.

And this year is going to be extra special, with a wonderful and colourful float going round the district first, reminding everyone of the celebration.

Fayre-ice-creamAs usual, the event will be jam-packed. Every year we have a huge collection of classic vehicles, the popular Dog Show (it starts at 11.30, so don’t be late), and children’s sports and entertainment, including puppets and a fun-fair.

But our top attractions will surely be the ‘Y Ddraig’ Vikings, who will be challenging the village’s children to battle (a bad mistake by them, many think! ), the Joliba Drums who will be training youngsters to play a range of drums finishing with a massed demonstration of drumming, and the fabulous the Staffordshire Youth Jazz & Big-Band Orchestra.

Plus lots to eat and drink, including our sizzling all-day barbecue, and a bar run by the the local pub (thank-you The Draycott Arms!); and community ‘market’ stalls.

Children up to 16 get in free accompanied by an adult (each adult pays £5 – but parking is also free).

Please come along if you can. All the profits go to supporting the maintenance of our lovely medieval church, St Margaret’s.
