Two brave Donna Louise employees are taking to the skies to complete a courageous and very scary fundraising challenge.
On 5th August Director of Care, Dot Gillespie, and Head of Finance, Hayley Whitehall will be completing their first ever WING-WALK at Breighton Airfield near Selby, Yorkshire, to raise money for the children, young adults and families at The Donna Louise.
Both Dot and Hayley have previously completed skydives for The Donna Louise, so they already have an idea of what to expect – although this time they’ll be soaring through the sky while attached to the plane rather than jumping out of it!
Dot, named in The Sentinel newspaper’s 100 most influential people in Stoke-on-Trent, said, “Hayley and I did a skydive together two years ago, and it was an amazing experience. We thought it was about time we took on another challenge and came up with the idea of wing-walking – we seem to have a thing for flying and aeroplanes!
“I’m looking forward to it, but I’m obviously a little apprehensive too. However, this is only a small, short feat compared to the huge, ongoing challenges the families at The Donna Louise face on a daily basis.”
Dot and Hayley are hoping to raise lots of money for the children and young adults at The Donna Louise. To make a donation go to http://www.virginmoneygiving.com/team/DotAndHayleysWingWalk
